LANGLEYBURY
Sun, 10 Aug 2014
Start: 1.30pm Arrival at ground: 1pm
ADDRESS
Langleybury Lane, WD4 8RJ Tel: 01923 267568
Map-1 (Also check
here on TomTom website for live traffic
information before heading off)
Like at Amersham last week, if you put the above address (off Langleybury's
website) into your SatNav, it isn't really where the ground is, but close. It
appears to be on the other side to the clubhouse - about 250m away, so not the
end of the world. You're best to either insert
these co-ordinates 51.692904,-0.437425 into your Satnav, or do the navigate to
'Point on Map' option if you have these available. Both these options are on
TomTom devices.
STEVE'S DRIVING ROUTE
I will do a pick up at the following stations. Let me know before Sun..
12:20 South Kenton (Bakerloo
Line)
12:27 Harrow-On-The-Hill (Metropolitan Line) See Note below
12:40 Bushey
(London Overground)
12:45 Watford High St
(London Overground)
12:55 Arrive at ground
Steve's driving route, click here
Note: Leave
Harrow-On-The-Hill station via the 'Lowlands Road & Roxeth' exit, then walk 70m
up the street and wait on the corner of Lansdowne Rd & Lowlands Rd. If you're
not there when I drive past I won't be waiting, as I can't park there, so you'll
have to then do the 7-8 minute walk to the ground.

UNDERGROUND TRAINS
There's no Underground trains near the ground, so best to meet Steve at one of
the pickup points above, or catch National Rail train below.
NATIONAL RAIL TRAINS
Kings Langley
London Midland (From
Euston
towards Birmingham New Street or Milton Keynes Central)
Trains run every 60-90 mins
23 min trip from Euston to Kings Langley (Pretty quick)
20 min walk from station to ground
Map-2 (Walking map from
station to ground)
Train times: Euston 11:24, Kings Langley 11:47
Euston 12:54, Kings Langley 13:18
As you can see they're lousy times for a 1:30pm start - perfect for 2pm start!
If you don't feel like walking to the ground then email Brett Schwim to get
picked up if you are getting the 11:24 train (which you'd have to be pretty keen
to get in the first place). Brett drives straight past Kings Langley station on
his way to the ground - 4 min drive to ground. If you get the 12:54 train then
you'll need to either walk to the ground (scenic stroll along the canal), which
will take about 20mins (2km), or jump in a cab to get to the ground, which
shouldn't cost much - if there's one there. If you get the later train, it
doesn't matter if you're late to the game as we generally bat first if possible,
and can live without a fielder for 15 mins or so if we field first. If we do bat
first (which we'll know before the train arrives), it shouldn't be a problem for
someone to whip up to the station and pick you up.
