If you are driving, it can be difficult to find a parking spot in the area because of
the crowds that flock to Kew Gardens on a Sunday afternoon, which is adjacent to
the ground. Luckily Kew CC have
an arrangement with a private school across the road from the ground that allows
cricket players to park their cars in there.
Drive your car up the road about 100m past the Kew CC clubhouse and next to 63 Kew Green
(opposite side to the ground), you'll see an alleyway which
leads to a set of double black gates about 30m down the alleyway. This opens into
'Kew Green Preparatory School'. Get out your car and punch
the following code into the keypad: 9158, then press 'Enter'. The gates will open, then park your
car inside the school. The gates will close automatically. Allow 5 minutes extra
for this on your travel time to the ground.
Allow more time to get to the ground than you expect, as the traffic can be
quite heavy around the Kew Bridge area, particularly on sunny days. The 'London
Rugby Sevens' event is also being held at Twickenham this weekend, so allow even
more time to get to the ground, as they are expecting around 40,000 to attend
each day. But hopefully by 1pm most people will already be at Twickenham, as
it's an 9:30am start there. Check the 'Google Maps' link at the bottom of this page to see how traffic
is looking before you leave on Sunday.
